News You Can Use!

Breakfast is available at no charge for all students
every school day.

Campus does not open until 8:00AM.
Students should not be on campus prior to 8:00AM as there is no supervision prior to that time. Parents with children enrolled in the Sunshine before care program or our tutoring program are the only students that may be dropped off prior to 8:00AM.

Breakfast is served from 8:00-8:15 am. If your child is not eating breakfast, they do not need to be at school until 8:20 am.

Thank you for your assistance in following our arrival guidelines.

Check out the new link added to our links bar: www.fsassessments.org. This section of the Department of Education website will give you everything you need to know regarding the new Florida Standards and how our students in Grades 3-5 will be assessed.

Please click on the curriculum link to see the recently added Student Progression Plan. This gives you information regarding student promotion.

Families are encouraged to take advantage of the information and resources available on the Florida Standards Assessment portal (www.FSAssessments.org) and the FDOE website (www.fldoe.org).  More resources will be made available throughout the 2014-15 school year, so parents and students should check these websites regularly for updates

Please be reminded that any dismissal changes must be in WRITING.

We cannot allow students to change dismissal without a written note.  Notes can be written in the student agenda, or on paper and brought to the front office.

If there is no note, the student will be sent to their regular dismissal spot.

Get FREE Microsoft Office for your student to use at home.

The Student Advantage program helps ensure students have access to the tools they need to be successful in their education and are prepared for the technology skills required in the workforce.

Due to the increased number of students at our school, we had to modify the parent breakfast/lunch
schedule because of our cafeteria’s capacity.

New Tuesday parent/student lunch schedule

ESE Parent Survey

Each year, the Florida Department of Education (DOE) surveys parents of children with an individual education plan (IEP) to determine how well your child's school is partnering with you and promoting your involvement in your child's education.  All states must collect this data as part of their State Performance Plan, as required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).   Please go to http://www.esesurvey.com through May 31, 2015 to participate.

Tip Line

Report Anonymously

If you need to report something you can do so ANONYMOUSLY! No one will ever be able to know where the report came from. We need you to help keep our schools and our children safe, so if there is something going on that needs to be reported please do so!

The text messaging service, TipSoft, allows a response by text message to the originating cell phone without ever knowing the identity of the individual who left the tip. The user’s information is always given an alias and a unique ID before being sent. This secure application allows the tipster and the investigator to have two-way dialog while always keeping the user’s identity completely anonymous.

The School Board of Broward County encourages students to report information about any non-urgent illegal activity, such as vandalism, theft, the sale and distribution of drugs or information about crimes that are being planned.
